Wedding Trends have absolutely skyrocketed within the last 5 years, and it is so difficult to keep up with what’s hot and what’s not. It can get super crazy when you’re seeing all the cool trends in bridal magazines, Tik Tok, and Instagram. How do you know what is worth the investment and what’s not? How do you make sure that all the things that are important to you get included in all the planning? This is a very special day that you’re going to remember for the rest of your life. That’s why you want to make sure you get EVERYTHING you want. I’ve compiled a list of the trendiest must haves for your wedding day, along with some creative add-ons for you to include on your big day.
Photo Charms
A Photo charm is a cute and creative way to honor those that are close to us. Sometimes in life, we have to deal with the pain of loss. That loss can be really tough to handle with when such a significant event is happening because you want those individuals to be there so bad. Pain is the price we pay for love, but it doesn’t mean we have to just end it there. There are several creative ways to include our loved ones on our wedding day, and this is by far, one of my personal favorites. Attaching small frames with our loved one’s photos on to the bride’s bouquet makes for a cute accent, a meaningful touch, and a sweet keepsake for the future. It’s subtle enough to where it won’t clash with any of the other designs created, but it is still present enough to bring comfort to you when you walk down that aisle. This is an awesome way to keep our loved ones apart of all the fun.
Customized Jacket
This is a MUST, especially if you are a fall or winter couple. The brides caught on to this trend early. The customized bride jacket comes in many forms: denim, white denim, black denim, leather, or a sport coat! However, I’m starting to see the grooms pick up this trend as well but with a light twist. As of recently, many grooms are changing from a ceremony suit jacket to a fun reception, party jacket. I AM ALL FOR THIS. The brides have long been getting reception dresses in addition to their wedding dresses, but now the grooms want to be a part of that fun too! I think customized jackets are a cute way to change up a look for the night. It’s even cooler to know that it has been customized just for you.
Flower Crown / Floral Headband
I didn’t think wedding day hair do’s could get any better…until I saw this. A flower crown or a floral headband is a beautiful and subtle accessory to add to your hair. The clips and barrettes are still nice, but this specific accessory has my heart. The flower crown / headband matches well with any dress, and you can even get one made that matches the colors of your wedding. If I could wear a flower crown every day for the rest of my life, I totally would.
Non-Traditional Guest Book
The guestbook has gone through some major changes in the past few years. Couples are using all types of things for their guest book and it’s pretty cool to see what everyone is coming up with.
The picture above shows a wooden barrel that all guests were able to sign and leave little note on. Now this barrel sits as a meaningful decorative piece, and a constant reminder of this day in this couple’s home.
The polaroid route is also really popular one! This is where guests take a photo with a polaroid camera and then they paste it in the guest book.
Whatever your preference may be on the trends, make sure you’re doing it for you and no one else. What gets included on your wedding day should be things that matter to you and make you happy. All of your guests will appreciate the beauty, the hard work, and the celebration. Enjoy your day, do what you want, and be prepared to cherish those moments for the rest of your life.
